The Pros of blogging about a niche where there is a lot of money is the fact that you can make more money (obviously). Lets say you decide to create a blog on insurance and monetize it with Adsense. You are going to make a lot more per click in theniche than you would have in the gardening niche. The Con of creating ablog in something that has the potential to make a lot of money is the fact that there is a good chance it will be BORING. I dont know about you, but sitting down and writing content about insurance isnt something that I would see myself getting excited about. Pro’s and Cons of Choosing a “ ” Niche The Pros of choosing a niche that you are passionate about is the fact that you will be able to get excited to write content, it will actually be fun for you, and you will be able to easily engage with your followers. On top of all that, writing the content is going to be a lot easier since you probably already know a lot about that niche, this means you can probably skip the research part and get straight to the writing part. The biggest con about choosing a passion niche is the fact that you likely wont make quite as much money. However, I say that cautiously because there might actually be a lot of money in whatever niche it is that you are passionate about. For example, I know a lot of people that are passionate about weight loss or muscle building, and there sure as heck is a lot of money to be made in those niches! The take home point of all this is that you need to decide which is more important to you…making as much money as you possibly can even if it means you find work incredibly boring, or sacrificing some money to actually be excited about work. There is no right or wrong answer to this. And hey, maybe you are one of the lucky few who are actually passionate about a niche that has the potential to make a lot of money! Is There A Crowd? Once you have a niche idea in mind, the next thing you need to ask yourself is if there is a crowd. I am going to be honest with you here and let you know that the MAJORITY of the time there will be a crowd, the only way there wont be a crowd is if you continue to make niches out of sub niches. For example, there is a major crowd in dog training (which is a great niche by the way), but if you continue digging deep into that niche and try to start a blog on something like potty training an Italian Greyhound, there probably isnt a big enough crowd to make any real money from it. The take home point here is that your niche is more than likely big enough if you keep it more generalized and dont “niche down” too much.
